📚 When Readers Become Authors The October 2026 me 📚 When Readers Become Authors

The October 2026 meet of the Nagpur Book Club was a celebration of books, ideas, friendship and the wonderful writers within our own community.

Held on 3 October at Melody & Malt, Hotel Hardeo, the evening brought together 90+ bibliophiles and featured the launch and discussion of five books by NBC members:

📖 Dirt to Dignity: Why Cleanliness Is Patriotism by Dr. Kumar Nirbhay
📖 एक स्त्री का देश: ताराऊ by Dipti V. Kushwaha
📖 White Coats by Vaibhav Sabnis
📖 तुम्हारे आने से by Mohnish
📖 Manusmriti and the Constitution by Dr. Yugal Rayulu

Our Chief Guest, Sudhir Saxena, poet, journalist, translator and historian, congratulated the authors and unveiled each of their books to enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Dr. Tejinder Singh Rawal moderated the discussions, while RJ Tejal compered the evening and Rohit Tokhi welcomed the Chief Guest and new members.

And what a lyrical ending! 🎸 Mohnish captivated everyone with a beautiful rendition of one of his own love songs, accompanying himself on guitar. A perfect musical note to end a literary evening.

A big thank you to Dinesh Dhawane, Kapil Sawaikar and Ankita Rathore for their hard work, and to Melody & Malt and Hotel Hardeo for generously providing the space.

❤️ Most importantly, thank you to all the book lovers who came in such large numbers. We are especially grateful to the 10–15 members who graciously stood when we ran short of seats. Your enthusiasm and understanding mean a great deal to us.

And yes, we’ll be back next month with more interesting books, engaging reviews and stimulating conversations!

Nagpur Book Club Celebrates World Book Day 2026 wi Nagpur Book Club Celebrates World Book Day 2026 with a Memorable Fellowship Meet

Nagpur Book Club marked World Book Day 2026 with warmth, laughter, and a shared love for literature at a special fellowship meet held on Sunday, 19th April. Although World Book Day falls on 21st April, the club thoughtfully chose a Sunday so that more members could come together and celebrate without the constraints of a working day.

Hosted graciously by Dr. Tejinder Singh Rawal, Founder of Nagpur Book Club, at his residence, the gathering saw an enthusiastic turnout of over 70 members. The atmosphere was lively from the very beginning, as members reintroduced themselves, offering glimpses into their reading journeys, literary preferences, and the books currently occupying their bedside tables. It was a reminder of the diverse reading culture that defines the club.

One of the highlights of the meet was an engaging literary game that tested both memory and imagination. Members were presented with quotes and situations from well-known books and had to guess the corresponding literary characters. The room buzzed with excitement as guesses flew around, often accompanied by laughter and friendly debates.

Adding a personal and reflective touch to the event, members were invited to write their favourite book quotes on post-it notes. These were then displayed on a vibrant “quotes wall” that quickly became a focal point of the gathering. Reading through the collection felt like walking through a shared literary soul of the group. Members later voted for the most impactful quotes, and the winners were rewarded with thoughtfully chosen bookmarks.

The evening concluded on a delightful note with a grand dinner, where conversations flowed as freely as the food. It was a time for deeper connections, shared recommendations, and the simple joy of being among fellow book lovers.

Special appreciation goes to Amarjit Singh, Rinku Matharu, Simi Rawal, Jigyasa Rawal, and RJ Tejal, whose efforts played a key role in making the event a success.

There are evenings when a book club becomes much more than a gathering of readers. The October 2026 meet of the Nagpur Book Club was one such evening, celebrating the writers within our own community and the journeys that brought their books to life.Held on Saturday, 3 October 2026, at Melody & Malt, Hotel Hardeo, the book meet brought together more than 90 young and old bibliophiles for an afternoon filled with books, ideas and lively conversation. This month’s gathering was particularly special as five new books by proud members of the Nagpur Book Club were launched and reviewed, celebrating the creative voices within our literary community. The evening’s Chief Guest was Sudhir Saxena, noted poet, journalist, translator and historian, and a former Nagpur resident now based in Bhopal. A recipient of the Pushkin Award, Madhavrao Sapre Award and Vasundhara Samman, his work spans poetry, translation, journalism and history.Addressing the gathering, Sudhir Saxena congratulated all the authors on their new books and shared his thoughts with the audience. Rohit Tokhi introduced the Chief Guest and welcomed new members to the growing NBC community, and gave a brief idea of how the club operates. And then at the end came a particularly delightful surprise. Mohnish captivated everyone with a soulful rendition of one of his own love songs, accompanying by his guitar. It was a beautiful meeting of poetry, music and emotion, and a perfect lyrical ending to an evening devoted to literature.A successful book meet is always a collective effort. Dinesh Dhawane, Kapil Sawaikar and Ankita Rathore worked hard behind the scenes to help make the evening a success, and their contribution was an important part of the smooth and warm proceedings.A special thank you to Melody & Malt and Hotel Hardeo for generously providing the space and helping us create a warm and welcoming setting for this literary evening. The evening concluded with a warm vote of thanks by Pushpa Rathi. After the formal proceedings, members stayed back to make new friends, catch up with old ones and continue conversations about books, literature and ideas.
